St Louis Arch

The trip to St Louis would not have been complete without a stop at the arch.

The arch didn’t look so big amongst all the buildings from the view at our hotel the night before.

001 crop When we drove up to the arch, it began to look very big.

001 As we walked up to it, it looked even bigger, especially looking up 630 feet in the sky to see the top of it.

For our trip to the top we rode in pods.    When we purchased our tickets, we were asked if we had any problems with claustrophobia or heights.   I lied and said no.    I’m scared of heights, but only if I think I could fall.   So in reality, I probably didn't lie;  I don’t have a problem with heights, I only have a problems with falling from heights.

015The pods are not what you would call roomy.   They are designed to hold five people.  Fortunately, the early hour and cold weather kept the crowds away and my husband and I got a pod to ourselves.

033 After several minutes we reached the top and were able to take in the views.

I found the view at the St Louis Arch is just as incredible from the outside as it is from the inside.

I'm proud of you for overcoming your fear. I am afraid of "falling from heights too". Your pictures turned out great! Thanks for sharing.

Love the picture of the arch at night with the city lights!

Thank you for taking pics of the pod and sharing your experience with us. I have never been there and it was nice to read your story and see pics at the same time.

I don't comment often, but I do love your blog and pictures. When we were in Paris, I didn't go up the Eiffel Tower. I enjoyed it just fine from the river tour we took.
